friends know one another, to what extent?
sometimes when they live together, it's just to split the rent
although they talk and discuss, move from 'me' to 'us'
but sometimes even stop talking and only text, all depends on the context

friends like each other's company, to what extent?
sometimes when they go out together, sharing cabs is for what it's meant
although they smile and laugh, share each other's half
but sometimes even argue and blame, all like a recurring game

friends trust each other, to what extent?
sometimes when they stand together, a good photograph is the only intent
although they help and cooperate, wait when the other's late
but sometimes even show love and secretly hate, a sign that things aren't going great

friends are our go-to persons, to what extent?
sometimes when they work together, it's just to show who is more competent
although they give and share, listen to the other's despair
but sometimes even follow others too much, that's when things start cracking as such

but all said and done...
friends are friends, to every extent
even when they squabble, it doesn't leave a dent
they love and care, like no one elsewhere
every time they fight and comeback together, friendship becomes stronger than ever.
